WHAT ARRIVES
2 live starter plugs, each approximately 12 to 14 inches tall, rooted and actively growing. Plant them outdoors once your last frost has passed.

Cuphea isn't listed in the ASPCA plant database, so there's no official classification either way for dogs, cats or horses. If pets in your household tend to nibble on plants, check with your vet before planting it where they can reach.
WHERE IT SHINES
Hummingbird and butterfly gardens, walkway edging, sunny borders and large patio containers. Two plugs planted together fill a large pot or border faster, giving hummingbirds more flowers sooner.
GROWING IT
Plant in full sun to part shade; in the hottest climates, a little afternoon shade helps it keep blooming through summer. Keep the soil evenly moist and well-drained. It tolerates brief dry spells but blooms best with steady watering. Pinch the tips about two weeks after planting to encourage a fuller shape. Each plant grows into a rounded shrub about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide.
CLIMATE
Evergreen in frost-free areas. In zone 8 and warmer, frost kills it back to the ground, and it regrows in spring. In colder areas, grow it as a summer annual, or bring it indoors to a sunny spot over winter.
WHAT TO EXPECT
