Meet Monstera 'Thai Constellation': a sought-after variegated Monstera with creamy-white, star-like speckles across deep green leaves, so every leaf has its own pattern.
WHAT ARRIVES
2 live starter plugs, each approximately 5 inches tall, rooted and actively growing. Young plants have smaller leaves; the splits (fenestrations) develop as they mature. Variegation is stable in this cultivar, but the amount and pattern of cream on each leaf varies naturally and may differ from the photos.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE
The ASPCA lists Monstera as toxic to dogs and cats because of insoluble calcium oxalates, which can cause mouth irritation, drooling and vomiting if chewed. Keep it out of reach of pets and small children.
WHERE IT SHINES
Bright living rooms, offices and plant collections, where it makes a striking focal point. Give it a moss pole or trellis to climb as it grows.
GROWING IT
Give it bright, indirect light and avoid direct sun, which can scorch the pale variegated areas. Plant in a chunky, well-draining aroid mix, and let the top half of the soil dry out between waterings; overwatering causes yellow leaves. It prefers higher humidity but adapts to average indoor conditions. It's a slow grower that can eventually reach 6 feet or more indoors.
CLIMATE
Grown as a houseplant year-round. It isn't cold hardy; in warm climates it can spend summer outdoors in shade, but bring it inside before temperatures drop below about 55°F.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Thai Constellation grows more slowly than plain green Monstera because of its variegation. Leaves get larger and develop more splits as the plant matures and climbs.
